A little more than five years ago, all three of us gave up stable jobs to open our own brick-and-mortar businesses, a boxing and kickboxing gym, a candy store, and a craft store, to be specific. So we know firsthand how hard it is to own and run a small business: the long days, the need to wear multiple hats at once, the stress of cash flow uncertainty, hiring and retention challenges, keeping up with competitors, and changing customer expectations.
